PETROF Piano Shined with Billie Eilish
at the GRAMMYs and Oscars

We are proud that our PETROF P 135 K1 piano appeared at two major cultural events this year.

At this year’s GRAMMY and Oscar ceremonies, Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas brought this piano on stage to perform What Was I Made For from the film Barbie.

The original version of this award-winning song was recorded on the very same model of our piano. You can learn more about the creation of this hit here.

We are thrilled to see that musical instruments crafted in our factory in Hradec Králové are gaining recognition on the world’s most prestigious stages, enchanting both artists and audiences with their unique sound.

So many of the old family brands of pianos have gone away or been purchased by corporations and now are only an old name without the passion of their roots.

Steinway was purchased just a few years ago by an investment firm.

Bösendorfer was sold to Japanese Yamaha.

Seiler went to the Korean Samick company.

Schimmel sold a 90% stake to China’s state-owned Pearl River.

Companies such as Grotrian, and Wilm. Steinberg also have Chinese ownership.

These corporations no longer have the heart to maintain the passion that comes through generations of family traditions and exist solely on their name, but
